![]() Several of your agents could barely be heard, even with the volume of my phone turned all the way up. For the last 3 months I have the unpleasant experience of using your phone and chat system, trying to work around the following: So for 3 months now I have spent what adds up to several hours online talking or chatting to many people, each of who assured me they would resolve the problem. Now I use this card almost every day for all my purchases, whether online or in person. When I called to find out why, I was told the credit card they have on file for me had expired. For the last 3 months I have received emails letting me know my payment was overdue. My experience so far: I've had a pods account for 8 or 9 months now. The company rents out containers on a monthly basis. You can keep a PODS container for as long as you need it. Both options are cheaper than full-service movers. Contact your local municipality to find out if you need a permit to have a PODS container on the street. According to PODS, they are designed to protect contents from rain and snow. They have a steel frame and aluminum panels, and they are weather-resistant. No, PODS containers are not climate-controlled. Prices for coverage range from $10 per month to several hundred dollars per month, depending on the level of protection. Note that it doesn’t cover damage or loss due to improper packing, burglary at your home or water damage. Contents insurance: This insurance covers both the container and the items inside the container.Container-only insurance: This insurance covers damage to or loss of a moving container due to fire, smoke, vandalism, falling objects, car accidents, lightning, windstorm or hail. One thing I found online is that some people are outside of their direct delivery area, so double check your addresses work for them when you call.Yes, PODS is insured for moving. They do have some sort of special lift system, if you do use the cubes. You do have to call them if you use them, it won't show you the price online. I didn't get all my questions answered because the sales rep was super pushy and he had other goals. But I'm unclear if that initial 6 days is part of the 30, or not. ![]() PODS: $3616, up to 6 days to fill (?) but you schedule the pickup beforehand, then you can keep it for up to 30 days and it seems relatively cheaper if you keep it for longer than that, which is nice. She also helped me estimate that we could actually use less space, which was awesome, and that there is the flexibility to use more or less space while loading-like the comment or said you pay for what you use with upack. But when I did call they were very patient and informative, and I didn't feel pressured.the woman was so helpful that i nearly booked immediately. Yikes! Basically everything can be done online, including the quote, which is nice. If storing the container longer, it's $1200 a month. And, yep, they deliver right to your yard/driveway (except PODS double-check your address-see below) -Upack: $3545, 3 business days to fill, 6-8 travel days, 2 days at service center, 3 business days to empty (so, do it over a weekend to get extra days), so enough time to drive across the country and not rush. ![]() I've also included my random ass thoughts about each, bc I agree they are fucking expensive! Both quotes are for 16ft (we over estimated), portion of a truck instead of the cubes because it was cheaper, but it's the same concept. If it will help, I've just gotten quotes for both for our upcoming move for AZ to OH.
